Soundwaves is a new project for me — a blog focused on music connected to Nova Scotia in one way or another.
As a proud Haligonian, I’ve always seen this province as a real creative hub. From the 90s with bands like Sloan, Thrush Hermit, and Joel Plaskett, right through to today, there’s been a constant flow of artists shaping the sound here.
What makes it even more interesting is how wide that connection spreads — bands that started here, artists who moved away but still carry it with them, and others who’ve ended up here and become part of the scene. It all ties back to the same thread of creativity rooted in the province.
Soundwaves is just a space to highlight that ongoing story — the people, the music, and the Nova Scotia connection that keeps showing up in so many different places and sounds.
