This is a rad little project that brings four Nova Scotia musicians (Rachel, Landen, Loren, Avalon) together for a pretty wild three-day recording experiment.
I believe the basic idea was to pair up differently each day and make a song with whoever you ended up with. Start from nothing, and have a song done before calling it a night. Then they did it all over again the next few days with new combos.
There’s something pretty cool about that approach. Instead of spending forever polishing one idea, they must have had to trust their gut, make decisions and move on. The result is a collection of songs that captures a real moment in time, and demonstrates the process of working through ideas and seeing where they lead. Assuming it was a pretty fun experiment, because the end product is great.
